Context:

CRS Pakistan started its operations in 1954 and currently working in areas of education, HIV/AIDS, drought mitigation, water and sanitation, livelihoods, legal assistance to refugees. Alongside this, CRS continues to work in the areas of emergency response, disaster preparedness and mitigation.

The worst monsoons in Pakistan’s history have affected many provinces; 2.6 million acres have been affected and 970,000 homes have been destroyed. According to the government, more than 14 million people live in these areas.  In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province alone, over 281 bridges and 283 roads have been damaged by flood. To respond to this natural disaster CRS has started its work in KPK (Besham& Swat) and Balochistan. This position is created to support the high volume of relief distribution from CRS warehouses in the affected communities.
 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for loading/unloading of commodities from warehouse to Regional Offices and distribution points. He will also be responsible for physical inventory and record keeping.

Major Responsibilities:
  • To supervise the commodities/goods loading/unloading that includes relief supplies of any kind.
  • To maintain all official and original records of the commodities/goods for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Maintain and improve systems, which are required for standard storage practices, and reporting on community/partners receipt, movement, usage and loss.
  • To maintain appropriate tracking systems for commodities/goods including warehouse physical inventories
  • To ensure security and safety requirements of the warehouse and commodities stored are in place.
  • To be responsible for all the utilities bills of warehouse make payment arrangements for the labors
  • Labors and time arrangements as per the allocation plan provided by the Program staff
  • To provide receipt and issuance report on daily base i.e. Good Received  Note and Good Delivery Note
  • To perform certain duties designated by the Management if and when need arises.

Emergency Response:
  • "The (Designation) may be called upon as part of their roles and responsibilities to participate and/ or provide support in emergency response situations when and where required in consultation with their supervisor."

Key Working Relationships:
  • Internal: Admin and HR Manager, Warehouse and Logistics officer , Senior Procurement Officer Islamabad Office & Program Manager Besham Sub Office.
  • External: Vendors, CRS Islamabad office and all sub offices

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Bachelor Degree preferably in Social Sciences.
  • One year of experience in warehousing or store management.
  • Demonstrated qualities of oral and written communication skills, culturally sensitivity, and ability to work with people of all faiths, good judgment, a team player and commitment to agency’s mission.
  • Demonstrative ability to transfer knowledge through formal or informal training
  • Computer literate, i.e. familiar with MS Word and Excel and management of database information.

Job Location:
  • Islamabad Office, Pakistan with extensive movement to other offices in Swat, Besham, Mansehra and Quetta

Duration:
  • Initially three months contract, with the possibility of extension.
