PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To promote the wellbeing of children and encourage community participation in the CFS project
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• To mobilize community to effectively participate in the CFS project • Help establish child protection referral mechanisms within the community • Assist the Child protection officer and children’s outreach officer to create awareness about children’s rights • Identify, document and promote the participation of the most vulnerable families and children in the CFS project • Assist with child protection assessment and monitoring • To identify and report cases of child abuse within the CFS and community • To help implement the Child Protection Policy • To ensure adherence to the IASC Code of Conduct • To design age appropriate activities for children attending the CFS • Communicate effectively with children • Identify the psychosocial needs of children attending the CFS • Ensure equal participation of all children (including children with disabilities) in the CFS project • To meet weekly with families and community members to review CFS activities • To provide daily and weekly monitoring reports of CFS project • To maintain an accurate CFS attendance record • To conduct regular checks and reports damage to CFS equipment • Interacts with other child focused organizations and community mobilizers • Updates knowledge of child management and CFS standards • Advocates at community level for children • Keeps basic cash transaction records • To mobilize interested youth to participate as volunteers in the CFS project • Organize weekly child rights awareness sessions amongst families and communities within the target areas • Report on the impact of the CFS project on the lives of children and families • Carry out specific duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ATTITUDES • 1-2 years of proven work experience in community mobilization • Ability to engage with children and youth • Preferably holding a bachelors degree in development related field or a diploma + 3 years working experience in a related field • Willingness to work in difficult and remote regions • Good sensitivity on the cultural and religious customs and practices • Good writing and language skills in Urdu, Pashto, English, Hindko and Gujri
