Position:              Medical Officer (2 Male / 2 Female)

Location:             Umerkot  

No. of position:    4 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

Curative Care:

  • Responsible to provide curative care for children, women and men on the recommended weekly schedule.
  • Identifies high-risk cases and diseases not curable and insures an effective and timely referral to hospital.
  • Responsible to diagnose and treat TB cases according to TB DOTS guidelines.
  • Ensures that relevant health education is carried out on the use/misuse of drugs in accordance with patients’ situation.
  • Responsible for cases needing emergency coverage and referral.
  • Responsible to work as project team member according to the schedule provided.
  • Ensure that aseptic techniques are used for all dressing, injections, inspections and examinations and all minor surgeries like drainage of abscess, etc are carried out under his strict supervisions.

Preventive Care:

  • Responsible to implement and manage mother and child care activities, RH, EPI, control of diarrhoeal disease, respiratory infections, TB and malarial control and sanitation through participation in these programs and ensuring effective staff activities and involvement. Identifies staff training needs during project work and field trips and report to office and arrange training’s/workshop for them.
  • Provides adequate training (after attending workshop) to paramedical staff in health programs based on standard guideline such as Acute Respiratory Infection, Control of Disease, Mother Child Health, Expanded program of Immunization, Primary Eye Care etc.
  • Ensures that all programmatic issues are discussed with Associate Director and actively participate in planning and projection sessions.
  • Ensures that a good standard of cleanness /sanitation is maintained in the work area and in the target area of camps by all personnel under his/her supervision.

Administrative:

  • Responsible for all staff working in project. He/she will ensure that staff are working effectively and regularly and reports any irregularities if found to Program Management or immediate supervisor in following up policy, rules and regulations.
  • Checks all project records and documents regularly. He/she will ensure that all the staff at the health unit has recorded their monthly reports effectively.
  • To maintain a friendly and good working relation with staff and community.
  • To assist Associate Regional Director/Program Coordinator in project activities.
  • Attend all the meetings arranged by Associate Regional Director / Program Coordinator.
  • Ensures that all equipment is in good condition and all inventories are properly listed and physically present.

Job Requirements:

Qualification/Experience:

  • For the position of Medical Officer, MBBS degree from recognized university registered with PMDC and minimum of one year relevant experience is considered necessary.

Skill/Competencies:

  • Good communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to deal with complex and challenging situation.
  • Good command in written and spoken English.
  • Good computer skills
  • Good Reporting and Management skills.
  • Good English and Urdu, Sindh speaking would be preferable.

 

Position:              LHV / Nurse (2 Female)

Location:             Umerkot

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Running weekly clinics for malnourished children referred by medical officers. Details of requirements and functioning of the clinic are given separately.
  • Running weekly antenatal clinics. Details of requirements and functioning are given separately.
  • Giving health sessions to woman, either individually or in groups, as directed by medical officers.
  • Assisting medical officers with history taking and clinical examination as required.
  • Giving injection, dressing and immunizations to woman and other who are not willing to be attending by male staff.
  • Keeping weekly reports of patients check/attended and submitting them to the office at the specified times.
  • Preparation of the monthly activity report and submitting to the Medical Officers.
  • She is responsible to the medical officer for day-to-day project activities and work assignments.

Job Requirements:

Qualification/Experience:

  • For the position of LHV / Nurse, Nursing or LHV Diploma from recognized Institution and minimum of one year’ relevant experience is considered necessary.

Skill/Competencies:

  • Good communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to deal with complex and challenging situation.
  • Good Urdu and Sindh speaking would be preferable.

 

Position:              Dispenser (Male)

Location:             Umerkot

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Preparing Fortnightly medicine indent from stores and collecting medicines.
  • Maintaining and organizing medicines in project area and make sure of its security.
  • Dispensing medicines to patients according to Medical Officers’ prescriptions and advising patients to properly use.
  • Keeping accurate daily record of medicines received and dispensed and submitting daily report to office.
  • Preparing monthly patient visit reports from Medical Officers’ daily sheets and submitting to office.
  • To take active part in all the Community Health sessions.

Job Requirements:

Qualification/Experience:

  • For the position of Dispenser, a Diploma in Dispenser or Pharmacist from recognized Institution and minimum of one year’ relevant experience is considered necessary.

Skill/Competencies:

  • Good communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to deal with complex and challenging situation.
  • Good Urdu and Sindh speaking would be preferable.

 

Position:              Community Mobilizer (2 Male / 2 Female)

Location:             Umerkot

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Project orientation to targeted communities.
  • Facilitation in beneficiary identification and selection.
  • Conduct meetings with community steering groups and document minutes.
  • Resolve any conflict in the targeted area involving relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish complaint response mechanism and ensure adherence to CHS benchmarks.
  • Participate in assessments, Participatory Rural Appraisals, feasibility studies and stakeholder analyses.
  • Participate in project related meetings/trainings/workshops etc.
  • Submit scheduled and need based activity reports.

 Job specifications:

 Qualification/Experience:

  • For the position of Community Mobilizer, a graduate degree from recognized university and at least one year’s experience in relevant filed is considered necessary.

Skills/Competencies:    

  • Excellent mobilization skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • He/She should be flexible, committed and dedicated.
  • Ability to deal with complex and challenging situation.
  • Good Urdu and Sindh speaking would be preferable
