Job Purpose: To provide technical assistance to project team and trainings to 75 beneficiaries regarding mushroom cultivation, quality control, processing and all related key generic steps.
Reporting line: This position will report to Program Manager Implementation.
As an Expert value chain development, duties include:
- Review and revise (as per product, and market) value chain available within feasibility report.
- Prepare detailed work plan on value chain component of project. To map and accordingly re-design value chain including main actors, flow of products, infrastructure facilities, financial component and all supporting actors.
- Serve as the technical lead for designing, implementing and provide monitoring framework for all value chain and marketing activities.
- For effective design, coordinate and collaborate with partners including customers, beneficiaries to leverage project resources, avoid duplication of efforts and ensure complementarities.
- Provide supervisory and monitoring framework for effective implementation of value chain activities with a focus on improving crop, productivity processing and input-output market enhancement.
- Provide technical guidance and conduct training sessions for Farmers Business Groups on Value Chain Development.
- Provide support and guidance for gathering of data and information needed to undertake an effective monitoring and evaluation of activities related to value chain and marketing.
- Any other assignment related activity
Competency Requirements
- M. Sc. (Hons) in agriculture with at least three years of practical experience in value chain development from a recognize institute.
- Very eloquent with the ability to be creative, resourceful, capable of making mature and independent decisions.
- Committed and have high regard and respect for teamwork.
- Be willing to work odd hours, on holidays and ready to travel to remote areas.
