Chemonics seeks a public relations manager for the proposed five-year, $16-20 million Communications and Outreach Mechanism (COM) program. COM seeks to increase the awareness of USAID/Pakistan civilian assistance programs implemented in Pakistan by raising awareness of their benefits to communities and individuals across the country. The project will be based in Islamabad. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and maintaining a favorable public image for USAID/Pakistan by effectively communicating the accomplishments of USAID/Pakistan’s projects and activities.
- Responsible for pitching stories to the media, preparing media kits, and organizing press tours.
- Writing press releases, speeches, and prepare articles for publications.
- Release relevant information to counter negative publicity and handle crisis and emergency communications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communication, advertising or a related field; advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a reporter, editor, media coordinator, or in public relations is required.
- Extensive network and strong relationship with major Pakistani print, broadcast, and social media players.
- Experience working with USAID/Pakistan strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate with diverse teams, host-country government officials, international donors, and private sector stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Proficiency in English and Urdu required.
