Tetra Tech ES, Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech dedicated to international development, is recruiting for a Communications Specialist for a USAID-funded project in Islamabad, Pakistan.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Communication Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing a communications plan that reaches out to both stakeholders and the public to promote and highlight the work and goals of the project. The candidate will also be responsible for disseminating messages about the project to the project’s stakeholders such as the Government of Pakistan.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Develop and implement the project’s communication plan.
- Coordinate all external outreach on the project to the Government of Pakistan and other stakeholders in consultation with USAID.
- Field and respond to incoming requests for information, talking points, messaging, etc. from project staff, USAID and counterparts.
- Develop communication material on issues and topics in the energy field for diverse audiences including the USAID, the GoP, and internal staff to be used for written and verbal communications and social media.
- Provide communication support at events including preparation of press releases, announcements, social media posts and organize for photography and videography as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree (Specialization in Communications)
WORK EXPERIENCE: 5 to 7 years communications experience required. Preferably in corporate communications, or working for a USAID funded project.
SKILLS
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
- Experience writing about energy issues
- Some experience with social media communications
- Very high level of professionalism and awareness required
LANGUAGES: Excellent language proficiency in both writing and speaking in English and Urdu.
GENERAL: Tactfulness, Enthusiasm to the job. Good Human Relation skills, integrity and ability to work under pressure.
