Job Description:
- Provide support in overall coordination, management & implementation of the microfinance component of the project including coordination with the relevant stakeholders such as MFIs/MFBs and farmers.
- Support Project partners and beneficiaries for securing microfinancing from banks and financial related institutions according to the targets mentioned in the work plan for increasing their respective produce’s handling capacities and implementing other business support interventions under the PAD project.
- Identify key lessons learned to be shared with USDA and Winrock and develop other internal knowledge management documents in Microfinance.
- Under the supervision of DCOP, the incumbent will maintain close contacts with the MFIs/MFBs that are interested to work with the PAD Project for improving PAD beneficiary farmers access to credit.
- Share list of PAD beneficiary farmers (who have received training in good agricultural practices both pre and post) with the MFIs/MFBs, update on monthly basis and facilitate them in credit need assessment and identification of potential/interested borrowers.
- Maintain updated record of PAD beneficiary farmers who avail credit facility and status of repayment.
- Facilitate training in credit awareness for PAD beneficiary farmers and build their capacity to identify credit needs, successfully borrow, properly utilize and timely repay loan.
- Travel as necessary to support micro-finance related activities in the rural area of Punjab & Sindh.
- Document progress, resolve issues, and initiate improvements when needed.
- Prepare reports on activities, outputs and outcomes for internal use and submission to donors.
Relevant Experience:
- Master’s degree in Finance/Economics/Accounting/Banking or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in financial sector, preferably with hands on experience in Microfinance, banking or embedded credit.
- Direct working experience in the area of microfinance is a great advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in or familiar with NGO environment.
