Position Objectives:

The PM SSP- (School Safety Program) will work with Pakistan Red Crescent (PRCS) and the S, Norwegian Red Cross (NorCross), Local Authorities, Provincial and district staff in order to ensure the efficient and effective planning, implementation and monitoring of the NorCross’ supported School Safety Program (SSP) in KPK and Tribal Districts. The PM SSP will undertake his/her professional duties under direction of, and in collaboration with, the line manager in PRCS.

Specific Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

Serve as the primary point of contact at PRCS PHQ, leading the overall responsible body for the implementation of the agreements between PRCS and NorCross Pakistan Country Office.

The PM-SSP will work closely with the SSP teams at Provincial and District branches ensuring the program is being implemented according to plan. He/she will be responsible to coordinate the implementation of SSP activities, advising using his/her expertise in the field and ensuring consistency in all the selected districts/provinces following the School Safety Framework endorsed by PRCS.

Liaise between PRCS, NorCross and PNS's at Provincial level and arrange meetings as needed between all parties, ensuring inbuilt coordination mechanisms are being used.

Ensure effective working relationships with the SSP team and other relevant focal persons.

Regularly visit and closely monitor the quality and implementation of the SSP activities in the field. Advise the staff on possible solutions to problems as they arise. The position will require extensive travel and frequent field-based stays.

Organize and lead quarterly review and planning meetings at provincial level

Make him/herself familiar with School Safety Framework and guidelines developed by the IFRC, Government and other stakeholders for good practices.

Develop a strong relationship with other stakeholders engaged in School Safety Programs (e.g. Education Department of both KPK and FATA, PDMA, FDMA, UN Agencies, I/NGOs) and support fellow colleagues in building strong networks and consortia for SSP at all tiers.

Prepare, revise and closely monitor the SSP budget with NorCross program staff.

Prepare annual plan and track the implementation of SSP activities with relevant colleagues.

Consolidate and share monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

Prepare and submit field monitoring reports having reflection on good practices, key challenges, and recommendations on way forward.

Participate in relevant meetings as required.

Initiate purchase requisitions (PR’s) as per programmatic needs and submit to NorCross.

Undertake all such duties and accountabilities not listed above as required based on programmatic needs by the management.

Education

Masters/ 16 years education in Social Science/ Management or in relevant field from HEC recognized Institute / University.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of working experience relevant to school safety, project management & technical skills on development of Sop’s, guidelines etc. Working as at managerial position to look after School safety programs inclusive of violence prevention will be preferred. Strong monitoring, evaluation & analysis skills would be required.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Fluency in spoken and written in Urdu & English. Pashto speaking will be preferred  
  • Certification in Project Management would be added value
  • Excellent skills of imparting training courses for the staff and school communities
  • Work towards the achievement of PRCS Vision and long-term objectives
  • Flexibility to travel to conduct field visits for monitoring and coordination purposes
  • Good command on Microsoft Office (word, excel & power point)
