Project Overview and Role

At MDF, our teams work with businesses, associations and governments in Asia Pacific to help farmers and workers thrive. We use a market systems (MSD) approach to achieve long-term, lasting growth and create sustainable jobs for poor women and men. 
Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) is central to our work on the ground, and our teams in Fiji, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka and Pakistan are dedicated to ensuring that our activities benefit women and girls. 
MDF is funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT). 

In Pakistan, MDF works in the livestock, horticulture and leather sectors to create more opportunities for communities and help them benefit from information on finance and nutrition. The team also works in the sustainable technology sector to improve access to and usage of water and energy.

Role:
MDF is looking for technically skilled, creative, free-thinking photographers and videographers able to capture the nuanced impact in form of pictures/videos generated by its partners.

Responsibilities

  • Documentaries
  • Short films
  • Short social media clips
  • Photographs - compelling portraits, landscape captures, action photography, and general photo-shoots in field (all over Pakistan).

Requirements

Essential requirements:
  • Up-to-date knowledge of photographic and video technology, equipment, and techniques including editing
  • The necessary editing technology
  • The equipment necessary to capture stories effectively
  • Creativity, with a good eye for a picture and capturing a story visually
  • Excellent technical and photographic skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, including managing time according to tight deadlines while maintaining product quality
  • Exceptional attention to detail, precision and quality standards
  • Desired to have familiarity with local languages
  • Preference for a candidate who is comfortable with travelling to all provinces of Pakistan
  • An existing portfolio of relevant work would be beneficial to the candidate
  • Firms/individuals with experience of photography/videography in Balochistan,Khyber Pakhtunwa and South Punjab are encouraged to apply.
