Project Description:
The U.S.-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development (AMD) activity in Pakistan is a USAID funded activity implemented by CNFA with the goal of supporting the development of Pakistan’s commercial agriculture, particularly through improving the ability of Pakistan’s agriculture and livestock sectors to meet both international and domestic demand and requirements in targeted product lines in citrus, mango, high value/off season vegetables and livestock. AMD’s targeted interventions such as training, matching grants, and technical assistance is aimed to leverage private sector investment and encourage innovation. Together, these interventions will upgrade and streamline supply chains, optimize profit margins, increase in horticulture produce export, enhancing participation of women entrepreneurs, and ultimately make Pakistani mango, citrus, meat and HV/OSV production and marketing more profitable and competitive.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
This STTA position will be based in Lahore and is open to Pakistani nationals only. The Marketing Consultant will provide support to the marketing team in its ongoing activities including events, workshops, trainings and stakeholder meetings. In addition to assisting the team in organizing and managing these events, the STTA will support the team in data compilation, record keeping, liaising with project finance, procurement, communication and logistics departments and externally with the relevant stake holders. The purpose of this assignment is to enhance performance of the marketing team to successfully meet the project targets. The Marketing Consultant must have previous experience in working in a similar position in USAID funded economic growth/ Agricultural programs along with event management, operations and research experience. The candidate has to have excellent command over maintaining documents and in generating market related data required for reports and research. The STTA will report to the Director Marketing.
Specific duties include:
This assignment requires the following specific functions:
- Assist the team in organizing ongoing activities including events, workshops, trainings and stakeholder meetings;
- Assist team in keeping track of all the documentation with the exporters and other relevant stake holders;
- Convert ISTTA reports into manuals and workbooks that can be published by the project;
- Support M&E team in liaising with the AMD supported exporters in collection and compilation of sales data;
- Undertake research and compile market related data on AMD’s four target product lines;
- Assist in activity implementation including development of concept notes, budgets, SOWs, memos etc;
- Provide operations support for all marketing activities;
- Regularly update project related documents and provide feedback accordingly;
- Support compilation of weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports;
- Willingness to frequently travel to project areas throughout Pakistan; and
- Any other relevant tasks assigned by the Director Marketing for implementation of the AMD Project.
Deliverables:
- Monthly update report of all activities conducted by the STTA as per the assignment scope; and
- Report on other relevant tasks that may be assigned by the Director Marketing.
Supervision/Reporting:
Director Marketing, AMD.
Working Conditions / Special Considerations:
The employee is expected to comply with the terms and conditions as noted in the letter of agreement with CNFA.
This assignment is based in Pakistan. Lahore will be the primary duty post, but the employee may spend approximately 10% of his time in other Project Provinces within Pakistan.
Qualifications:
- Pakistani national;
- At least 3-4 years of experience in economic growth/ agriculture related USAID funded projects in Pakistan;
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Business Administration or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with an additional 5 years of experience in relevant areas;
- Experience in USAID project related operations;
- Experience in undertaking research on local and international agricultural markets;
- Event management and support experience;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Working knowledge of USAID policies, rules and regulations preferred;
- Previous project work experience in Pakistan;
- Fluent in English, both written and oral. Fluency in regional languages preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
