Communications Manager, USAID Sindh Enabling Environment Activity 

DAI seeks a Communications Manager for an anticipated 3-5 year USAID Pakistan Sindh Enabling Environment Activity (SEEA). SEEA will help improve the enabling environment in Sindh to promote private sector-led growth in the agriculture, dairy, livestock and fisheries value chains by identifying and addressing policy constraints that impede efficient operations. The Activity will help create an internationally-competitive policy environment, providing the private sector with the stability and incentives required for investments in agriculture aimed at improving the quality, quantity, sustainability and profitability of produce in the domestic and export markets.

The SEEA program will be based in Karachi, Pakistan, and cover all districts in Sindh province.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement the SEEA communications strategy, ensuring effective delivery across diverse audiences and stakeholders, in line with guidance from funders;
  • Direct the regular production of project marketing materials such as success stories, presentations, and two-page briefs, in collaboration with office and technical staff;
  • Developing program style guide and templates;
  • Collaborate with other public relations, media, and advertising firms as required, including interface with local, regional, and national media outlets;
  • Working closely and coordinating with implementing partners and SEEA’s funders;
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with the media, including journalists, TV reporters, anchors and media influencers;
  • Create and disseminate communications products in line with the program Communications Strategy and guidance from USAID;
  • Provide capacity building of partners in stakeholders on communications if required;
  • Monitor effectiveness and reach of program messages and activities;
  • Contribute to program reporting on communications and outreach matters;
  • Ensure consistency in communication across implementing partners, all materials and events.
  • Provide timely reports and feedback on deliverables as required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, business, or related disciplines required. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • At least ten years of progressive experience in knowledge management, communications, marketing, documentation, dissemination, or similar work; 
  • Familiarity and expertise in managing media relations, issues management, and stakeholder
  • outreach programs involving key opinion formers such as regulators, experts, and community leaders
  • Understanding of behavior change communication campaigns and their effective dissemination;
  • Familiarity with reporting and branding guidelines for USAID-funded programs highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing in English. 
  • Experience working with government, NGOs, donors, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Ability to work in complex environments with multiple tasks, competing priorities, and short deadlines.
