Introduction:

The Pakistan CRA project supports small scale activities in Sindh and Punjab by providing grants to undertake programming. The activities are designed to support organizations, including Governmental entities, local organizations and community groups, to implement peace building and community development activities.

Overview:

The Pakistan CRA Engineer will provide technical support and guide CRA through the engineering design and construction process, including: support during the site survey/planning phase; supporting the procurement of design and construction services; conduction environmental reviews of planned construction/rehabilitation; managing the construction phase; and overseeing closeout, handover and the defects-liability period. The CRA Engineer is responsibility for quality control/ quality assurance of CRA construction activities. This position will report to the Chief of Party in Islamabad.

 

Scope of Work:

  • Assist with planning and studies
  • Assist with procurement of design services for infrastructure, construction and rehabilitation activities.
  • Manage and oversee the execution of design subcontract(s).
  • Assist with Tendering for construction.
  • Manage and oversee the construction phase.
  • Manage and oversee the closeout phase.

Management Responsibilities:

The CRA Engineer will manage and indirectly supervise consultant site inspectors, as needed, for on-site construction inspection services.

Qualification:

  • B.E (Civil Engineering) or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing design and construction of infrastructure
  • Extensive understanding of procurement procedures
  • Skills: At least three years of experience in designing community physical infrastructure construction and rehabilitation and/or similar civil work.
  • Experience of working in urban neighborhoods
  • Experience of working in donor-funded projects
  • Experience of using design software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
