Project Description:

The purpose of the Pakistan Agricultural Technology Transfer Activity (PATTA) is to identify, support and bring to scale private sector solutions to improve agricultural productivity in Pakistan, through a four-year activity. PATTA will partner with agricultural technology companies to commercialize products and services that can increase the productivity and competitiveness of small- holder farmers and mobilize private sector investment in agricultural technology. PATTA’s partnership will provide small-holder farmers broader access to affordable technologies to increase productivity, build resilience to climate change and reduce postharvest losses.

Objectives of the Technical Assistance:

The basic and main objective of the assignment is to assist BDMS-PATTA in technical and other tasks related to Access to Finance, for Trainings & Business Development activities. The consultant will provide assistance in development and implementation of A2F related trainings and Market linkage development activities plus private sector partners management.

Scope of the Assignment:

The STTA’s tasks will include but not be limited to:

Working under the direction of the Access to Finance Officer, the STTA’s tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist BDS/A 2 Finance officer in need-based evaluation of the Supply & Demand side Partners
  • Manage key client like Banks, MFIs & DFI.
  • Contribute to service and procedure improvements to the private sector partners
  • Assist Private Sector Partners in terms of staff training for financial management.
  • Assist in creating linkage between SSPs, DSPs with MFIs, Microfinance Banks, Islamic Finance Banks, and other financial institute which may help PATTA to achieve our target.
  • Assist in Training Modules/Slides Preparation for training events.
  • Assist in concept note and scope of work development for engagement of business services providers and shot term technical assistance
  • Review of primary and secondary research, assessments, and training reports
  • Prepare presentations, correspondence, meeting arrangements, minutes and other tasks
  • Develop resources and related information on technologies and partners
  • Record meeting results and action items for follow up required in contacts with partners
  • Coordinate with and provide administrative support as per requirement

Deliverables:

The specific deliverables of STTA are;

  • Prepare a workplan for A2F related activities with support from BDMS team and submit a provide a detailed feedback on assessment regarding training grooming and development of the field force.
  • Provide support in designing of A2F related training modules and Power Point Presentations
  • Prepare meetings minutes, concept notes and statement of work documents.
  • Manage Supervise activities on behalf of Marketing Officer

Estimated level of effort (LOE) for the assignment:

60 working days (approximately 3 months)

Timing of the Assignment:

The consultant will commence working on this assignment on or about August 15 ,2018 with completion by November 30, 2018.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in business administration/agribusiness or related field
  • Experience in Microfinance Sector will be preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of working experience in Financial Sector / MFI, NGO.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Documented excellent report writing skills in English
  • Oral fluency in English, other local languages are an asset
  • Willingness to travel to field (rural and/or urban areas)
