Project Description:

The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project (PRP), implemented by the International Rescue Committee and its partners, Creative Associates International, World Learning, and Institute of Rural Management, is working with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education throughout Pakistan to improve the reading skills of children in grades one and two. The project aims to achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: improved classroom learning environment for reading, improved policies and systems for reading, and community based support for reading in Pakistan.

Reporting & Supervision:

This position will report to the Senior Head of Office with an indirect reporting line to the communications and reporting manager of Creative based in Islamabad Office.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Collect testimonials, beneficiaries quotes and photographs
  • Identify and collect success stories and share them with central team on a prescribed format
  • Assist in producing internal and external communications, materials including video case studies, photo essays, documentaries and reports
  • Assist in organizing advocacy events, launching ceremonies and seminars
  • Ensure branding compliance by sub-grantees and obtain photographic records
  • Maintain photo bank and share with central team on a monthly basis or as and when required
  • Ready to travel to far-flung areas as and when required.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in mass communication, education, social development or relevant discipline.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience is required
  • Proficient in using MS office computer applications 

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of USAID branding and Marking will be an advantage
  • Be a team player and quick learner
  • Basic photography, video editing and social media communication skills
  • Can prepare press statements and articles for internal and external communications
  • Able to provide attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills

Other Skills:

  • Ability to proficiently use the following design software:
    • Corel Draw
    • Photoshop
    • In-design
    • Adobe Suite
    • Illustrator
    • Dreamweaver
  • Photography and photo editing skills with experience of using DSLR camera

Language Skills: 

  • Have good written communication skills and can communicate in both verbal and written Urdu/Sindhi and English language.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.
