Project Description:
The purpose of the Pakistan Agriculture Technology Transfer Project (PATTA) is to identify, support and bring to scale private sector solutions to improve agricultural productivity in Pakistan, through a four-year activity. PATTA will partner with agricultural technologies companies to commercialize product and services that can increase the productivity and completeness of small holder farmers and mobilize private sector investment in agricultural technology. PATTA’s partnership will give small holder farmers broader access to affordable technologies to increase productivity, build resilience to climate change and reduce postharvest losses.
Objectives of the Technical Assistance:
The objective of the assignment is to assist PATTA in technical and other tasks related to SBCC interventions. The consultant will provide assistance in development of SBCC strategy and tools for implementation of behavior change activities in line with PATTA interventions.
Assignment Scope:
Working under the direction of Behavior Change Officer the STTA’s tasks will include but not be limited to:
- Develop concept notes and scope of work contribute to market analysis, and technology adoption practices imperative for behavior change.
- Review primary and secondary research data, behavior assessments, agriculture technology behavior change material, activity reports etc. develop SBCC resource material and related information on agriculture technology.
- Support in development of capacity building/TOTs material for supply side partners on behavior change interventions.
- Prepare presentation, correspondence, meeting arrangements, and other tasks.
- Record meeting results and action items for follow up required in contact with partners
- Coordinate with and provide administrative support for STTAs in field.
- Coordinate with PATTA administrative team on procurement of products services including logistics as needed to support SBCC activities.
Deliverables:
The specific deliverables of STTA are;
- Develop a detailed work plan for SBCC activities within 3 days of assignment commencement
- Provide feedback and weekly one pager update on SBCC activities to the behavior change officer as per given plan.
- Develop Meeting minutes, concept note and scope of work as assigned
Estimated level of effort (LOE) for the assignment:
60 working days (approximately 3 months)
Timing of the Assignment:
July to October 2018
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in social sciences/development studies, Agriculture education, communications or related fields
- 2 to 3 years of working experience in SBCC related activities/projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team;
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; and
- Documented excellent report writing skills in English;
- Oral fluency in English
