Background:

Sindh Community Mobilization Program (CMP) is one of the major components of SBEP, implemented by IRD. CMP has four key objectives;

 Increase communities’ involvement in the GOS reform of merging, consolidating, and upgrading schools

 Improve community and district administrations coordination for increased girls’ enrolment

 Improve child nutrition in selected communities and government schools through research that informs innovation and good practice

 Education Management Organizations (EMOs) pilot CMP empowers communities through awareness and enable GOS through increased involvement in order to support the GOS reforms of merging, consolidation and upgrading schools.

CMP’s inclusive community activities are designed to make SBEP’s outcomes sustainable by active community participation. CMP specifically focuses on 400 targeted schools by increasing community and privatesector involvement in education reform activities, improving child nutrition and supporting community and district government coordination for increased girls’ enrollment. CMP also leverage partnerships between public and private sector through education management organizations to ensure efficient management and sustainability of the intervention
