Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Expansion:

  • Identify training and development needs through market analysis, baseline data and consultation with training participants, their line managers and human resources department.
  • Ensure quality of training contents in-line with commitment made in the project documents.
  • Monitor, review and measure the progress of trainees through questionnaires, surveys and discussions with managers.
  • Use blended learning approach for capacity building including e-learning modules, be involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages.
  • Develop training invitation package for e-circulation.
  • Conduct baseline/needs assessment exercise for all trainings and develop reports for sharing with Resource Person and management.
  • Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and use this research for improving training packages.
  • Conceptualize events such as conferences, seminars and trainings as per program requirement.
  • Support teams in developing concepts, brochures and invitation packages.
  • Understand and enhance the capacity through participatory approaches that meet the needs of the organization as highlighted in the baseline /needs assessment.
  • Outreach to academia to integrate Q&A modules & teaching practices in university curriculums in order to professionalize the sector.

Networking and Linkages Development:

  • Remain up-to-date with latest developments in training by following relevant training announcements, attending networking meetings and following the relevant e-courses/tutorials.
  • Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and use this research for improving training packages.
  • Represent the organization nationally/internationally where relevant.

Design and Deliver of Trainings and Seminars:

  • Conceptualize seminars and trainings as per organization requirement to promote Q&A approaches and standards at national and regional level.
  • Ensure training content is in line with commitment made in project proposals.
  • Design and implement training and development program based on the organizational level needs.
  • Take lead in planning, managing & facilitating the training events.
  • Coordinate with Lead Trainer for smooth implementation of the trainings.
  • Develop training modules, session plans, manuals and promotional materials.
  • Design training sessions and deliver trainings on project themes (Organizational Management, Q&A for Program Management, Leadership Development for Managers, HR Core Competencies etc.). 


Job specifications:

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • For the position of Senior Trainer Master degree in social science (International Relation, Political Science, Development Studies etc.) or Human Resource Management  combined with practical aptitude.
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in humanitarian sector, at least half of which should have been related to capacity building program, including experience of managing or conducting training under capacity building projects.
  • Preference would be given to candidates having proven experience of delivering training on Quality & Accountability initiatives (Sphere Minimum Standards; Core Humanitarian Standard etc.).

Technical Competencies:

  • Proven experience of delivering Training/Workshops for mid-large level civil society organizations.
  • Excellent Facilitation Skills & contents development for training on Quality & Accountability (Q&A).
  • Knowledge of Quality & Accountability initiatives, codes of conduct, principles and standards used in humanitarian and development organizations in particular the Core Humanitarian Standard,  Sphere and the Companion Standards.
  • Quality assurance methodologies and approaches (Q&A Audits, technical advice on Q&A promotion internally and externally with tested mainstreaming process). Provide road map and support in revision of policies & systems to adopt Q&A.
  • Change management.
  • Designing & developing consultative and participatory approaches with population affected by crisis.
  • Networking skills to strengthen the capacity of Sphere Focal Points in Asia region & the Accountability Learning & Working Group (ALWG) in Pakistan.
  • Substantial knowledge of national Quality and Accountability related initiatives, capacity strengthening tools  and approaches.
  • Good understanding of international workplaces and intercultural communication, easily adapting your style to different people and situations
  • Excellent strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience of report writing, developing briefing papers, manuals and e-newsletters, including the drafting and editing of contents.
  • Experience working with developers, designers or other external consultants to build and manage websites or other online coordination and learning platforms would be an advantage.
  • Experience in using online programme management tools would be an advantage.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively, flexibly and effectively in a small, dynamic international team.
  • Ability to think and act quickly, creatively and strategically under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with proficiency in local languages being a significant advantage.
  • Experience in managing and supporting colleagues from a distance.
  • Advance level computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
