An international non-governmental organization is looking for a Technical Coordinator to support the Department of Social welfare, KP in implementation of the Senior Citizen Act and mainstream Ageing in the department’s programs and policies.
Reports to: Manager Advocacy & Communications
Based at: Peshawar
Duration: 1 year
Responsibilities:
- Support with organizing senior citizen councils meetings and development of meeting reports.
- Provide support in the development of technical documents for senior citizen council.
- Support the DSW/MoSW with the follow ups with the relevant ministries regarding the actions agreed at the council meetings.
- Facilitating the respective project team in conducting meetings with officials of DSW/MoSW and other ministries for the implementation of the project.
- Facilitate meetings/sensitization or training workshops for the officials of DSW/MoSW, Health, P&D, Local government, Human rights and finance mentioned in the project document.
- Coordinate with the DSW focal points in district Nowshera and Peshawar for collection of data for the MIS developed under the project.
- Document the best practices and key achievements of DSW/MoSW in mainstreaming ageing and disability.
- Support DSW/MoSW with reporting on ageing and disability mainstreaming efforts.
- Maintain a library of materials on ageing and disability mainstreaming and produce user-friendly and operationally-oriented summaries of key documents for broad dissemination within DSW/MoSW
- Coordinate with Ageing and Disability Task Force-ADTF in country and perform as a focal person at DSW/MoSW level.
- Coordinate and support in planning and execution of different programs and events with reference to implementation of senior citizen act.
Reporting
The Techinical coordinator shall fulfil all reporting requirements, but not limited to reporting on:
- His/her monthly activities and next month plan of action
- Any development for the implementation of the Act
- Any other activity related to Ageing in the Department/Ministry
Personal Specification:
- Master’s degree in development studies, social work or related field with Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience with the Government on a senior position or NGO/ INGO.
- Has an understanding of the government’s functioning, roles and responsibilities of different ministries and departments at the federal, provincial and district level.
- Knowledge of Human rights, international treaties and standards on human rights.
- Good organizational and planning skills to manage job workload, multiple reporting lines and work to deadlines.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to think logically and strong writing skills.
- Good attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- High computer literacy; proficiency in Excel and Word and preferably advanced computer skills in database.
