JOB SUMMARY:
The position is responsible to lead the resources mobilization, stake holder communication and donor liaison for ARC’s country program. The incumbent plays a central role in defining resource mobilization strategies, identifying market opportunities, building relationships, strategically positioning ARC Pakistan with potential funders and donors and strengthening Country program’s capacity for resource mobilization. S/he will also be responsible for relationship building, intelligence gathering, processing and sharing of key information in a timely manner, initiating Go/NoGo decisions; identification and vetting of partners, drafting funding proposals for institutional donors, foundations and corporate funding, particularly in health, education, SGBV, livelihood etc.
SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:
Program Development
Lead the development of a fundraising strategy to meet the strategic requirements of the CP in consultation with CR and key program staff
Advice Country Program on potential funding opportunities and changes in donor priorities
Develop high quality funding proposals for specific projects by working in collaboration with Program Teams. Deliver proposals and budgets on time and in accordance with donor requirements
Ensure that processes for new proposal development are followed to ensure quality of proposals
Participate in conceptualizing and designing cost effective, innovative program.
Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of ARC’s country strategy and programmatic approaches.
Prepare and share periodic updates and internal reports on PD activities
Donor Liaison
- Cultivate, maintain and service relationship between ARC and current/potential donors
- Provide timely responses to Donor queries per Donor request.
- Support the drafting of external reports and work with Program teams to finalize these in accordance with donor requirements and timelines
Communications
- Oversee project related external communications and provides inputs to program teams for improvements
- Develop a system with program teams to identify, document, publish and disseminate human interest/success stories, case studies and marketing material etc
- Review and improve communication strategies, documents and messages
- Support and build the capacity of Program and MEAL teams in developing high impact stories and materials
- Oversee the development of innovative sponsorship schemes for resource mobilization campaigns
- Spread information relating to the outcomes of projects widely to the Government and to other humanitarian and development actors.
Representation
- Actively participate and represent ARC in national and regional technical working groups
- Provide regular feedback to country strategies and teams on funding trends
- Guide the program implementation teams for adapting programs approaches
Team Management
- Ensure resource mobilization team have individual work plans and up to date development plans
- Mentor, coach and counsel staff on a day to day basis
- Identify training needs of staff, including volunteers, and assist to create individual development plans
- Assist and support project team to implement project activities effectively
- Encourage a team culture of learning, creativity and innovation
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Post graduate master’s degree in international development, Marketing or related social sciences and 8+ years experience and evidence of developing quality funding proposals
- A very good understanding of Education, Health & GBV programs.
- Current knowledge of development issues, strategies, donor policies and procedures
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently, be innovative and creative
- Good analytical and strategic planning skills
- Ability to build rapport with individuals and groups
- Excellent interpersonal communications and presentation skills (written and verbal);
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Demonstrate strong facilitation, negotiation and networking skills
