JOB TITLE : Sub- Engineer

ROLE PURPOSE:

The job purpose of this position is technical assessment of Health facilities, preparation of BOQs, Monitoring of repairing work and coordination with health department.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to:  senior Program Coordinator

Dimensions:

Staff directly reporting to this post: Nil

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Carry out technical assessment jointly with PWD for minor repair and renovation works at identified RHS-A centers in Shikarpur and Jacobabad.
  • Prepare technical design of and lay out for physical works
  • Prepare jointly with PWD cost estimates/BOQs   for repairing of health facilities.
  • Regular Visit to monitor the ongoing physical works and technical inputs.
  • Finalization of bills and submission to finance for payment.
  • Weekly reporting on progress and maintenance of Measurement book.
  • Comply with the requirements of Save the Children’s Child Protection Policy to ensure maximum protection for children.
  • Other Duties as required and assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.Sc Civil Engineering or DAE Civil Technology
  •  Minimum 2-3 years of experience and 1 year relevant work experience. Previous experience within a humanitarian aid organization.
  • Good command over computer programmes relevant to this role.
  • Experienced in Designing of BOQs especially repairing of health facilities.
  • Ability & flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with other stakeholders.
  • Willingness and strong commitment to travel in the remote field adapt hardship and work in a team.
  • Have the confidence, initiative, patience and integrity to work independently.
