Job Purpose: You would be responsible for Developing Quality Curriculum and use of the high-quality curriculum for all Hospitality Management Training Programs. You will ensure that all HMTP skill development training achieve the high standards and follow best practices of training deliveries.

 As a Quality Assurance and Curriculum Development Specialist, your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct a needs analysis from various sources including instructors, training officers, training managers and donors on the effectiveness of the HMTP. Assess data and, as appropriate, implement continuous improvements to content.
  • Respond to inquiries about training program content, application, and design from internal as well as external stakeholders.
  • Ensure content is completed using curriculum design standards appropriate for the delivery channel (instructor-led, simulator-based, computer-based, competency-based).
  • Create, produce and distribute appropriate instructional aides with appropriate instructional formats including slides, overheads, video recordings, display boards, lab activities, handouts, workbooks, reference guides etc. Work with team members and/or vendors to create material as needed and ensure materials are archived for future access when needed.
  • To bring improvement in curriculum and training delivery methods in line with the industry standards, contextually relevant to contemporary trends in the industry;
  • Coordinate with central and regional M&E and communication leads in order to upkeep the updated date and information leading to conductin of program evaluation, visibility, promotion, and projection.
  • To provide technical inputs and expertise to program development team and to ensure that training deliveries are done as per the allocated costings and budgets.
  • Provide direction and support to project team to adhere to all quality standards during the project implementation and management the field operations to ensure the adherence of HMTP activities.

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Ability to develop training materials in Word, Powerpoint, Articulate, and computer-based training programming applications
  • Demonstrated understanding of andragogy and pedagogy.
    Special certifications or experience in adult learning preferred (i.e. Professional Training Development, Adult Learning).
  • Demonstrated technical writing ability.
  • Ability to coordinate project work with team members or vendors/contractors
  • Course delivery/training experience.
  • Demonstrated process management/coordination skills (to balance creativity with completion deadlines)
  • Strong planning, organizing, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of active learning principles
  • Excellence as a team player and strong overall communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals, groups and departments.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
