TITLE:  HR Coordinator

TEAM/PROGRAMME: Human Resources

ROLE PURPOSE:

The objective of this position is to oversee and ensure smooth functioning of all Human Resource activities in the respective field area.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Role Dimensions: Save the Children works in 2 provinces of Pakistan with a current staff complement of approximately 150 staff and current expenditure of over $5 million each year.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Act as a focal person for all field HR queries and try to rectify them accordingly.
  • Plan recruitment for all new positions by making a weekly schedule of interviews and ensuring the finalized candidates are brought on board.
  • Cope with staff issues and concerns effectively.
  • Ensure that a fair and transparent recruitment system is in place.
  • Organize orientation and refresher sessions on big 09 policies for all new recruits at regular intervals.
  • Share weekly recruitment updates with Islamabad for reporting purpose. Also ensure recruitment updates are reflected in the respective organograms as well.
  • Ensure proactive communication with field sector heads about expiring grants, new and vacant positions etc.
  • Ensure smooth and timely closure of Grants i.e. sharing of Accruals, processing Final Settlements, minimizing negativity among departing staff.
  • Ensure timely submission of the Quarterly Effort Report.
  • Perform any other task as and when assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Masters/MBA preferably in Human Resource Management

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • Overall Minimum working experience of 3-4 years
  • Minimum specific sector experience of 2 years with minimum 1 year supervisory experience.

Desireable

  • Willingness and ability to change work practices and hours with incoming surge teams in the event of an emergency
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Good organization and problem solving skills
  • Excellent coordination skills
  • Computer literacy with strong knowledge of MS Office
  • Willingness and ability to make frequent visits to the field
  • Fluent spoken & written English language
  • Ability to work independently to a high professional standard
  • A service-oriented attitude
