Job Title: Finance and Admin Officer

Reports to:Head of Finance and Operations, AJPP

Job location: Islamabad

 

Introduction to DAI – AJPP Project:

DAI has been awarded the Accountable Justice in Pakistan Programme (AJPP). The four-year, £12 million, DFID-funded project will improve application of the rule of law by equipping Pakistani men, women, and children with the knowledge and capacity to hold key law enforcement and justice sector institutions to account.

AJPP will enhance the rule of law by 1) increasing the accountability and oversight of law enforcement and justice institutions, and 2) increasing engagement by citizens in legal reforms and legal empowerment, leading to a better informed citizenry. Working in three target provinces, AJPP will prioritize the engagement of women, girls, minority communities, and the poor in justice sector accountability reforms.

 

Scope of the Work:

The Finance and Admin Officer will support the Head of Finance and Operations, AJPP, on project financing, accounting, forecasting, reconciliations and any project admin duties and tasks.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update Programme budget and budget variance in accordance with outlined programme requirements;
  • Keep up to date records of project finances and ensure accurate forecasting;
  • Assist the Head of Finance and Operations in preparation of cash requirements at all time;
  • Assist Operations, Finance and Grants Manager in monthly financial reporting and budgetrevisions;
  • Provide ongoing financial support to grantees;
  • Update Grants and Finance Manager in financial monitoring of grantee budgets;
  • Maintain and assist in preparation of periodic and other financial reports as and when required;
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy for budgets;
  • Respond to any queries directly raised by the Grant Managers and Team Leader;
  • Administrate quick books.

 

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Financial qualifications up to undergraduate degree level;
  • Five years’ experience working as a Finance/Admin officer in Pakistan;
  • Familiar with DFID/ BHC systems and accounting protocols;
  • Previous management of tasks on donor-funded projects;
  • Attention to detail
