USAID/Pakistan recently awarded Louis Berger (LB) with a three (3) year Punjab Youth Workforce Development Project (PYWD) to work with at-risk youth in Multan, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur to secure gainful employment and play a positive role in their communities. The Program will facilitate employment opportunities for 10,000 youth (including 35% women) will implement the following activities: a) proactive community engagements to mobilize at-risk youth; b) institutional capacity building and re-tooling of over 22 public/private vocational training providers; c) co-opting of prospective potential private sector employers for trainee placement; d) career counseling services; as well as e) providing access to finance for youth entrepreneurs.
The HR/Payroll Specialist will be involved in all areas of supporting HR, and Payroll.
Tasks and deliverables:
In addition, daily/monthly activity will include but not limited to the following:
- Interaction with project staff as needed to help facilitate component deliverables.
Ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Conduct new employee orientation.
- Preparation of employment agreement for new hires and renewals.
- Keeps records of benefits such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Preparation of employment verification as needed.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of employee monthly timesheets.
- Working on monthly processing of Local National monthly payroll to include interaction with staff, preparation of pay slips, and disbursement on payday.
- Contact person on the employee income tax deduction.
- Contact person on EOBI deduction for both employee and employer.
- Keep records for the income tax and EOBI payments and balances.
- Assists with the monthly tracking of actual LOE versus Budget LOE.
- Updating & accuracy of Accrued Vacation day schedule.
- Updating & accuracy of Accrued Sick day schedule.
- Updating the LN attendance sheet and leave schedule.
- Updating of monthly Local National Employee Prepaid Phone Card Receipt.
- Updating of monthly Component Prepaid Phone Card Receipt.
- Update and distribution of Pakistan Employee Weekly Reporting.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skill Requirement:
- Good reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required in Urdu, Punjabi and English.
- Translation of documents as needed.
- Two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentage, and ratios.
- Basic knowledge of Word and EXCEL.
