Provide HVAC services in all facilities of the infrastructure and HVAC systems. Responsible for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site. Provide Planned Maintenance and reactive diagnosis and repairs to all HVAC systems down to component level. All requirements of the HVAC systems are included in the job objectives.

Job Objectives

-       Participate in the testing & commissioning, handover and implementation of the HVAC system in accordance with compliance and requirements. Identify any snags, defects and generate a report on the corrective measures

-       Carry out planned preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, remedial repairs and adjustments to the HVAC system to provide operational effectiveness and continuity of service

-       Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.

-       Fabricates equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts. Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations

-       Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance

-       Installs heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities

-       Maintains vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition. Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions

-       Performs routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems. Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information

-       Repairs heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (e.g. VFDs, pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable work environment

-       Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair

-       Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns

-       Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site

-       Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

-       Should provide a high level of customers service to the Client and Site Personnel.

-       Carry out other duties as directed by the line management

 

Skills & Equipment Knowledge

-       Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.

-       Understands basic refrigeration cycle to include: identifying components in refrigeration circuit, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the refrigeration circuit, using manifold gauge set, pressure/temperature chart and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot. Understands refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging.

-       Understands basic electron theory, how electricity travels, AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits. Ability to read basic wiring diagrams. Understanding of Ohms Law. Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits.

-       Understands the process of treating air so as to simultaneously control its temperature, humidity, and distribution. Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings.

-       Understands basic heating cycle to include: identifying components in heating system, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the heating system using a gas pressure test and other devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot. Understands the theory of combustion and how it relates to combustible fuels such as gas and oil.

 

Requirements (Education & Experience)

The identified candidate is a holder of diploma in mechanical engineering OR HVAC discipline or equivalent with a 8 years` experience in a building services / facilities management environment with 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC systems technically. He must have a proven track record of maintaining leading brand of HVAC systems and associated equipment like chillers, cooling tower, water treatment for closed loop systems and technically competent in maintaining of HVAC systems with a clear technical understanding of buildings electrical, mechanical and HVAC plant and associated equipment. He must be flexible excellent attention to detail, ability to identify key issues and manage an environment of innovation and regular change and able to work under stringent deadlines and high pressure environment.
