1.    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Acts in the role of Programme Team Leader as specialist in GBV programme areas
  • Supervise project teams (Programme Officers and Assistants) to ensure effective integration of programmes/project activities with overall country strategic programme objectives;
  • Provide technical advice to CR/Programme Manager in programme planning, implementation, quality assurance, programme/project budget management, partners’ management and evaluations in line with NCA’s country and global policies/strategic plans
  • Design GBV  programme based on innovative concepts to secure cooperation and financial support from external funding partners to financially sustain respective programmes.
  • Responsible for assessment, response analysis, design/revision and implementation of the GBV components.

 

2.    MAIN TASKS

  • Ensure compliance with NCA and international standards including adherence to Government policies and laws that impact GBV programme
  • Responsible for developing proposals and budgets for fund raising and support provided by NCA to the local partners.
  • Identify new funding opportunities based on partner capacity and geographic presence
  • Seeking out new partners  and lead partner assessment and capacity building plan
  • Develop and maintain good relationship with partners, donors and relevant Government Departments and networks

 

3.    SPECIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS ASSIGNED TO THE POSTION:
(Project-, team-, workgroup-leadership/coordination, facilitation, monitoring, relation building etc.)

 

  • Team management of GBV programme teams.
  • Coordination with other Department (Admin/HR, Finance, and Security/Procurement) teams
  • Advise senior management team on policies in line with programme/area of work (gender sensitization, conflict sensitivity, accountability/CHS) for improved organizational culture
  • Compliance with NCA’s Security routines, regulations and SOPs.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor or management.
  • Changes in this job description will take place after discussions between employer and employee, and as a part of the annual PDR follow-up.

  

4.     Qualifications & Experience Required
(Project-, team-, workgroup-leadership/coordination, facilitation, monitoring, relation building etc.)

  • Masters’ degree preferably in Gender studies or social sciences
  • Minimum 10 ten years’ experience in  gender based violence, human rights or other related fields
  • Good understanding of local context, culture & vulnerable groups.
  • Excellent project design and participatory monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player, demonstrating leadership.
  • Ability to operate at advanced levels of authority and manage significant activities, budgets, and resources to produce and take responsibility for results.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work cooperatively.
  • Proven ability to solve problems independently without direct supervision.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels, and to maintain this under pressure.
  • Experience of developing program strategy, project proposal, and reports
  • Expertise in documentation of statistics print electronic and social media
  • Knowledge and experience of advocacy campaign on social issues.
  • Experience of developing gender considerations into M&E processes
  • Physical ability to conduct regular field visits, reporting and project follow up work
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to define priorities
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Urdu and other local languages would be an advantage

5.   Duration of Job:

  1 year with possible renewable extension

6.   Field Travel:

  Islamabad based job with upto 40% travel to the field
