General Scope of Work:

Field officer will be responsible for designing and executing research tools and instruments to gather field information and elicit responses from communities linked to various program schemes. He/She will also be responsible for coordinating with LEAD Pakistan Programme for access to communities, and for synthesizing raw field data and communicating in an accessible and usable form to other researchers and users.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Carry out field related project activities as prescribed in the Project Implementation Process and Project Implementation Guidelines.
  2. Maintaining good relations with local contact persons and project staff to involve them in project activities and seek their support in collection of data/information.
  3. Properly document field activities on prescribed formats and ensure that necessary information is properly entered in database for further treatment into knowledge tool.
  4. Convey field related findings to line manager for information and clarity and further guidance.
  5. Regularly monitor the project sites as per planned visits to verify progress indicators for ensuring and validation of the information being shared to provide inputs and support to counter parts in the learning section.
  6. Ensure that all data collection done by him/her during field operations is entered into the database within two days of collection.
  7. Understand the project progress indicators. Read carefully the project documents and process. More specifically the Process Document and Project Implementation Plan.
  8. Use participatory (interactive) approach in the community for extraction of information.
  9. Collect primary and secondary data about targeted area when assigned.
  10. Prepare and submit weekly reports to Research and Information Manager.
  11. Participate in trainings to give feedback on field realities and how to incorporate those in the capacity building sessions. 
  12. Proper filing of the forms/record/data in the meetings on process of different projects and suggest changes and conditions in the social patterns of community.
  13. Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly Reports to Manager with the objective of transparent Project implementation.
  14. Support and guide other team members in preparing analytical reports, in the collating of information and facilitate the preparation of presentations.
  15. Actively participate in the documentation of all workflows and underlying process followed

Professional & Qualification Requirements:

  1. Master’s Degree in Statistics, economics.
  2. Experience as a researcher for at least 5 years.
  3. Good interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise field staff, communities, and colleagues at various levels in the Organization.
  4. Strong grip on data collection, writing skills, communication skills.
  5. Having excellent knowledge and skill to operate statistical packages.
  6. To prepare field reports, survey forms, templates and ensure compliance to the standards.

  1. Case Studies
  2. Analytical paper at district level

The positions relate to a landmark project in Water in the Punjab Province.

All position required frequent travel between Islamabad & Lahore and Districts of Southern Punjab.
