General Scope of Work:

The Content Writer will be responsible to develop all external and internal content for various online and offline publications in clear, concise, and accessible language to ensure the delivery of the message to its respective audience. The position also requires support and assistance to LEAD Pakistan in general and to all ongoing projects in specific, particularly through writing and communicating of knowledge, progress, and development to internal and external audiences.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The person will be the primary editor and content manager for all knowledge products of LEAD Pakistan website, drafting regular features, newsletters and blog entries, editing and checking the work of others, managing workflow from multiple sources, and subcontracting work to freelance writers and editors.
  2. To write, and edit integrated internal and external communication pieces such as news releases, brochures, advertisements, presentation materials, speeches, web content, blogs, general correspondence, feature articles and stories, fact sheets, newsletters & blogs.
  3. To generate first drafts from collected or acquired data for tehsil profiles, case studies, district level analytical papers, and newspaper supplements, among others.
  4. To convert data, findings, and other information into scripts for documentaries.  
  5. To develop and implement content development Standards along with author's guidelines, forms, and check lists for maintaining quality across the outputs.
  6. To organize project material, plans to outline and write article ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience.
  7. To make sure that the content contains impeccable spelling, grammar, and sentence structure to ensure reading flows smoothly.
  8. To develop narration factors, such as theme, characterization, analysis, story line, etc. to create material high lighting the event activity related to projects.
  9. With a focus on copywriting, to produce content editing predominantly to support social media, bulk mailing, website content, research papers, and with PR releases.
  10.  To maintain regular liaison with all Unit heads in order to identify and understand the philosophy behind project needs and provide necessary support through efficient management of the content team. To make sure all publications maintain quality and timely delivery of outputs for maximum understanding of the reader.
  11. To ensure the proper hard/soft filing of all documents created relating to individual activities, projects assigned for ready reference and archiving. 

Professional & Qualification Requirements:

  1. Master’s Degree in English (language, literature, or creative writing) from a well-reputed University.
  2. Experience as a content writer of at least 5 years. Evidence of authoring papers, articles, and related literature. 
  3. Good interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise and communicate with colleagues at all levels of seniority.
  4. Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative, and to manage a large team.
  5. Strong all round communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English, including editorial skills.
  6. To prepare policies and author guidelines and ensure compliance to the standards.

The positions relate to a landmark project in Water in the Punjab Province.

All position required frequent travel between Islamabad & Lahore and Districts of Southern Punjab.
