USAID/Pakistan recently awarded Louis Berger with a three (3) year Punjab Youth Workforce Development Project (PYWD) to work with at-risk youth in Multan, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur to secure gainful employment and play a positive role in their communities. The Program will facilitate employment opportunities for 10,000 youth (including 35% women) will implement the following activities: a) proactive community engagements to mobilize at-risk youth; b) institutional capacity building and re-tooling of over 22 public/private vocational training providers; c) co-opting of prospective potential private sector employers for trainee placement; d) career counseling services; as well as e) providing access to finance for youth entrepreneurs.
We are looking for Training Coordinators reporting to Training & Human Development Specialist and Regional Manager for making the training component more effective.
The Training Coordinator’s specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Compilation of database of detailed profiles of TEVTA, PVTC and private sector training institutes in target districts.
- Arrange meetings in liason with the management of training institutes.
- Assess the capacity of Training Institutes and updation of list of Training Courses currently available in the training Institutes.
- Identification of the needs of skilled workforce in the mentioned sectors.
- Formalize the demand of skilled workforce received from the employers alongwith hiring commitment.
- Followup and track the performance of skilled labor provided to the employers.
- Facilitate in developing linkages of employers with PYWD project partner training institutes.
- Any other task assigned by the Management.
Qualifications:
- Graduation, Masters shall be preferred.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated and proven track record in working with development sector especially with training institutes for skills training of youth.
- Professional reading and writing skills in English and Urdu are required. Local languages Punjabi and/or Saraiki, is preferred.
- Ability to present technical information in concise written and oral form and to develop and implement action/work plans.
- Ability to coordinate programs and visits independently and to work under pressure.
