The individual will be responsible for developing, reviewing and adaptating technical documentations related to MIS and will assist and facilitate the documentation needs of training and curriculum writing. 

Job Specifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Education, Communication or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing
  • Ability to explain, in simple language, software application usage and user interactions steps preferably in Unified Modeling Language (UML)
  • Ability to gather and convert processes, workflows, application steps, data entries, report runs, etc., into a written narrative with illustrated screenshots and graphics 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, Adobe InDesign, and Graphic tools
  • Experience in editing documents with references to code, using languages such as PHP etc.
  • Knowledge of software design and development methodologies (e.g., Agile, SCRUM, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to relevant individuals
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, and senior management of Government and donor agencies
  • Ability to work well autonomously and in a team environment

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance with documentation for existing and new MIS such as user guides, training manuals, job-aids, reports, training videos, SOPs etc.
  • Provide support and assistance with assessment of documentation needs for training plans in coordination with MIS developers and functional area subject matter experts
  • Write curriculum for courses developed by the program and identify subject matter experts who can help to contribute, edit, review the contents for improvement
  • Gather templates, logo, copy right text, and other branding materials
  • Assist in writing technical content using Microsoft Word, InDesign or similar word processing tool; ensure that appropriate templates, branding and narrative styles are being applied to the written document
  • Work with other colleagues for publication and dissemination of the technical content
  • Maintain documentation to keep them current and proactively work with trainers and developers to ensure that documentation is kept up to date
  • Assist in conducting training/events to all relevant government staff at all levels
