Overall purpose of the role:
Effective, efficient and timely plan and implement the designed WASH interventions and ensure that meet national and international standards by adopting a participatory community based approach.
|
Responsibilities:
- Develop and update hygiene promotion and education materials and resources according to the global standards;
- Initiate sessions to children, teachers and local community on significance of hygiene practices;
- Conduct school assessments to identify gaps in hygiene practices;
- Collect data from Community and prepare regular reports on progress of activities and WASH conditions;
- Coordinate with Program coordinator to ensure that the various aspects of the WASH response are integrated;
- Work within the agreed work plan and ensure timely attention to priority taskssupport M&E staff in collecting project related information;
- Ensure WASH program meet SPHERE standards and established best practice;
- Undertake field visits regularly to observe WASH practices;
- Keep good coordination with WASH committees at field level to create ownership of program in community
- Ensure activities are participatory through engaging community including students, teachers and Shuras regarding development of awareness raising;
- Deliver trainings and TOT to internal staff and WASH committees regarding SPHERE standards and other relevant standards and best practice;
- Contribute to the development of the emergency prevention and response strategies;
- Ensure that activities engage the participation of all sections of the community and meet the needs of especially vulnerable individuals and mitigates gender based protection risks;
- Initiate progress reports within the team and across sector;
- Attend relevant meetings, seminars, trainings related to WASH sector
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by supervisor;

Key Deliverables:
- Effective and efficient planning and implementation of WASH activities at field level;
- Promotion of hygiene practices at community level
- Actively supporting program coordinator in implementation and further development of the WASH interventions
|
Education/qualifications:
- Master in social science
- Two – three years relevant field experience, preferably in refugees context
- Rich experience in community led interventions
- Experience of developing hygiene promotion materials
- Experience working with displaced communities specially Afghan refugees and TDPs
- Experience of delivering trainings on hygiene promotion
- Experience of conducting pre and post KAP surveys desirable.

Experience:
- Minimum two - three years’ experience in WASH sector the Humanitarian/NGO sector; preferably in refugees context

Languages:
- Proficiency in English speaking and writing skills
- Proficiency in Speaking Pushto is complusary
