Program Description

PERSI supports small scale activities in Punjab and Sindh by providing grants to undertake programming. The activities are designed to support organizations, including Governmental entities, local organizations and community groups, to implement peace building and community development activities. Funding for this award is being provided by the United States Agency for International Development, USAID.

Overview

In support to the AeP’s office in Lahore, the Field Adviser will function at one of the target district level. Field adviser will liaise with local communities, relevant government authorities, important stakeholders; and existing and potential grantees. The position will report to the Program Coordinator in AeP’s office in Lahore.

Scope of Work

  • Proactively identify grant opportunities by closely working with potential IPs and share the ideas with Program Development Officer on regular basis.
  • Establish critical relationships with local CSOs, government departments, elected representatives and local notables.
  • Initiate preliminary discussion with potential IPs on budgets and activity timelines in consultation with Lahore office.
  • Keeping an up to date data of grantee program activities, implementation plans and approved budgets; participating in grantee events, trainings, and meetings for quality assurance. Submitting a weekly report on such engagements to the reporting officer.
  • Advise the reporting officer on local political, legal, security and economic situations on weekly basis and on how to continuously adapt the program to ensure effectiveness.
  • Assist the Activity Programming Teams (APTs) in developing concept notes and various grants related documents.
  • Plan and execute monitoring visits to the on-going grants. For the monitoring function, the Field Advisor will work with the M&E Coordinator and the relevant M&E Officer.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to the teams implementing in-kind grants.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • University degree in relevant field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in related role required.
  • Relevant experience working on USAID small grants project in a related role highly preferred.  
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office suite) required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.  
  • English language fluency required. Punjabi language highly preferred.
