Purpose of Position

The major responsibility of the position holder will be to Plan and implement Enrich project activities with gender lens. Ensure that the AIP staff is trained on gender mainstreaming in activities. The gender officer will also build the capacity of partners, CBOs and communities on RBM approaches   

Major Activities

  • Identify opportunities to incorporate and highlight gender issues in the program delivery at the district and provincial levels, Provide gender responsive governance training, coaching and guidance to the project team, government , partners and members of the communities in areas related to gender mainstreaming.
  • Represent & introduce WVP to clusters, networks and forums aimed at building strategic partnerships, gathering information on government plans and priorities.
  • Document lessons learned in gender mainstreaming portfolio and disseminate information through active participation in gender network and other sources in order to improve visibility and coverage of World Vision gender equality work
  • Ensure timely and effective implementation to produce quality gender equality results and provide technical inputs for regular progress reports incorporating gender equality.
  • Assist in the establishment of systems for collecting and disseminating timely, accurate, detailed reliable and up-to-date gender disaggregated information to promote gender mainstreaming and guide implementation of, and support gender–sensitive monitoring and reporting by the districts.
  • As required, build capacity of staff and communities on RBM(Right Based Management)
  • Develop AIP gender strategy in lined with World Vision International gender strategy and approaches.
  • Any other task assigned by line manager as and when required as per organizational decisions and requirements
  • Knowledge, Experience and Skills
  • Masters level education in project management, development studies, gender studies, Social work, sociology or a related social sciences subject from recognized or accredited University.
  • At least 5 years’ experience on managing gender integrate projects
  • Excellent knowledge of gender issues in Pakistan specifically in Sindh province
  • Excellent  written communication to show case project results.
  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Fluent in English and Sindhi.
  • Reporting skills required
  • Good understanding of Human and Child Rights, different approaches of development. Good understanding of Gender and environment as well as demonstrated understanding of gender related policies of government
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure, priorities and meet deadlines
  • Understands and values diversity and maximizes diversity to achieve organizational goals
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to the needs of the organization
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Ability to operate in  self-serviced environment
  • Ability to work in diversified environment
  • Ability to travel to insecure and remote locations.
  • Knowledge of working cultures in government, semi-government and private sector will be an asset
