Job Overview

Responsible for conducting planning, implementation and optimization of BnCC and infrastructure support systems, storage and backups.

Main Responsibilities

  • Storage integration with UNIX based systems and Windows environments.

  • Enterprise level SAN administration on EMC Symmetrix class storage boxes.

  • Able to do Storage Masking and Mapping to Directors.

  • Able to work on EMC, IBM and Brocade SAN Switches to do  zoning, Fabric extension and management in multiple topology design.

  • Provisioning of Storage from box to server.

  • LVM 1&2 expertise on Linux and native AIX LVM expertise. Expertise on HP Unix is essential.

  • Experience with Storage Multipathing technologies in EMC and IBM product lines.

  • Expertise in managing production to DR Storage replication solutions like EMC SRDF.

  • Expertise in managing IBM and EMC mid-range storage boxes using native tools.

  • Expertise on UNIX/AIX/Linux based platforms system administration.

  • Proven Experience in clustered storage management at box as well as host end.

  • Expertise on system’s high availability

  • Analyzing the problems, escalating to vendors as per Service Level Agreements till the generation of Root Cause and resolution.

  • Knowledge to implement and support of GPFS and HACMP technologies

  • Ability to support Oracle RAC from a Linux operating system and Storage perspective.

  • Able to plan & execute new storage deployments and firmware/microcode upgrades across the environment

  • The individual should have hands-on knowledge and exposure to all EMC storage technologies (DMX, Clarion, ECC, SYMCLI etc) and great grasp of the monitoring and reporting tools.

  • The Individual should also have worked on Symantec Netbackup technologies and enterprise tape libraries including tape encryption.

  • The individual is expected to be a team player with aptitude to excel in assigned goals. Ability to handle pressure is a must.

  • Expert design , implementation and management of SAN environments

  • Design, implement and document all storage sub systems available within the enterprise to ensure such resources are optimized for performance, availability and operational management.

  • Expertise on Power VM, VmWare, DNS, DHCP

Education

  • A BS (4 Yrs) or master degree in computer science or a related field.
  • ITIL foundation certification (Preferred)

Expereicne:

  • Four to Six years of system and storage administration experience.
