Our organization, through Technical Assistance component of the project aims to undertake a feasibility study to identify the gaps, opportunities, develop business case and plans for developing value added products like pulp, preservation, etc., particularly in citrus, as well as other value chains.
Objective of assignment:
The objective of the study is to ascertain the marketing, technical and financial viability of establishing value addition processing units for pulping, preservation etc., for citrus and other value chains; and document the findings of the study in the form of a formal report.
Scope:
The purpose of this study is to obtain more information about the gaps on the production/value-addition side of the value chains and possible investment opportunities in the sector.
For promoting investment in value-addition and Processing, it is important to fill in the information gap by conducting a detailed feasibility study for the sector, with a special focus on the identified value chains, to help identify links of the value chains where market failures have occurred and where some development focused interventions can be useful to facilitate the efficient functioning of market mechanisms.
Deliverables:
At the beginning of the assignment, the consultant will submit a Work Plan which would detail the methodology and the timelines /research instruments.
The final output of the assignment will be a detailed Feasibility Report which will cover the scope of work mentioned above and any other pertinent issues that may not have been included in the scope but can have a significant impact on the investment decision of the proposed processing facilities.
The consultant will also submit the Excel file containing the financial analysis conducted for the feasibility study.
Qualification& Experience of STTA:
The STTA should possess Master Degree in social sciences or business administration or agriculture/horticulture or related field with a minimum of 5 years of business analysis/project development and project management experience.
