DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY

 

 

  1. Acts as resource person for the MD on the functional matters related to the academics of TVET sector i.e. curriculum, registration, accreditation, competency based training, national vocational and qualification framework, and recognition for prior learning etc.
  1. Supervise and coordinate the development and revision of curriculum and manuals of all TVET courses in coordination with the curriculum experts, industry experts and NAVTTC.
  2. Facilitate NAVTTC in the curriculum development, standards and the assessment methodology/procedures.
  3. Supervise and coordinate academic performance of the KPTEVTA institutes and highlighting the areas of weakness for efficient institutional management.
  4. Implement the accreditation process as per the guidelines of the NAVTTC and supervise the process at the provincial level.
  5. Devise policy guideline and monitor the development activities of the Academic section.
  6. Acts as Board Member for Board of Technical Education, Peshawar, Member for Academic Council of University of Engineering & Technology and other universities in KP on behalf of TEVTA and as convener of Provincial Academic Committee for the approval of newly developed courses.
  7. Develop, supervise and lead committees on admissions, text books, manuals, practical, uniform academic calendar, and prospectus for continuously measuring the output for the efficient TVET system in KP.
  8. Coordinate with the R&D for the establishment of new institutions, up-gradation of existing institutions and verification of courses developed for the TEVTA institutions.
  1. Coordinate with Operations on technical oversight and quality assurance of a range of competency-based technical & vocational training curricula and training methodologies aligned to existing national qualification framework and to current labor market conditions and also for the uniformity of academic standards in the institutes.
  2. Coordinate with the team of NSIS on the informed plans, choices, and decisions related to the national skills information system i.e. identifying skills gap, technical/vocational education & training, career planning, job placement, labour policies and workforce investment strategies.
  3. Provide inputs in the preparation of the annual budget and propose revision and re-appropriations in budget of the academics department in conjunction with the Finance Department of KPTEVTA.
  4. Disburse the assigned budget as per the delegation of financial powers to be utilized for academic activities and ensure to fulfil all the procedures lay down by the internal audit / financial procedures of KPTEVTA.
  5. To lead, train, guide, assess and support members of the department and to oversee their career development in conjunction with the KPTEVTA rules, making recommendations for appropriate in-service training and career progress.
  6. Acts on any other direction given by the MD.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

 

 Age

 

 

Up to 55 Years

Education

Minimum Bachelor of Engineering/B-Tech or any other relevant degree from reputed HEC recognized University.

Experience

12 years’ of experience in reputed organization including at least 8 years of job specific experience. Preference shall be given to those who possess diversified exposure in national, international, public and private organizations.

Skills

Proven leadership skills of managing and leading the department.

Working skills of ICT, Interpersonal skills, Entrepreneurial skills

Forecasting skills in terms of visualizing market demand. Having sound knowledge of academic policies, standards and regulations.
