Major Responsibilities:

 

Planning and smooth implementation of all projects:


  • Planning, management, and implementation of projects both in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
  • Donor Reporting.
  • Communication and liaison with partners.
  • M&E, and regular reviews of projects.
  • Financial management of projects.
  • Timely reporting of projects to donors.
  • Promote integration and collaboration with other organizational programs.
  • Mainstreaming of Q&A and Local Capacities for Peace (Do no Harm) in projects.
  • Ensure institutionalization of tools, practices & systems.
  • Assist AD/DD in regular review of projects, team performance, tools & systems.
  • Represent organization at sub-regional and regional levels.
  • Keep AD/DD updated and informed..

 

Strengthening Systems and Procedures:


  • Ensure necessary systems/policies are in place to run the program.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring and evaluation mechanism is in place and working effectively.
  • Review monitoring/review/evaluation reports and take necessary action as and when required.
  • Take initiative of doing lesson learning exercises from time to time.

 

Fundraising and increasing organization visibility:


  • Enhancing and maximizing the visibility of existing and upcoming projects.
  • Proposal development.
  • Researching for potential untapped donors and new funding opportunities.
  • Expanding the organization’s networking in Pakistan & Afghanistan.
  • Ensuring visibility of portfolio initiatives at sub-regional and regional level.

 

Team management:


  • Support leadership in strengthening the desired organization culture throughout the team.
  • Ensure the team follows standard guidelines and policies, including security protocols and ISO.
  • Support team in designing, conducting & data analysis of Needs Assessments and Baseline Surveys of projects.
  • Recruitment, orientation and management of team.
  • Staff coaching, development and team building.
  • Perform any thematic task assigned by the line-Manager.

Job Specifications:

 

 

Qualification/Experience:

  • For the post of Program Manager a master’s level degree from a reputable university and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience is considered necessary.


Skill/Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge on socio-political issues, gender, food security, human rights, education, health, agriculture, women’s empowerment etc in the context of the region and sub-region.
  • Background of development scenario of Pakistan, Afghanistan and globally.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Team management, mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Technical proposal & report writing skills on various donor formats.
  • Team building & motivational skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work well with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Technical experience/skills in conducting Monitoring and baseline surveys.
  • Ability to travel to remote areas and live in basic conditions.


Languages:

  • Good English is essential. Dari/Pashtu and Urdu would be an added value.

 

Sensitivity:

  • The Program Manager must be tolerant and sensitive to needs of religious and ethnic minorities, women and the poor.

 

Independence:

  • In the absence of the supervisors, the Program Manager must have the confidence, initiative, patience and integrity to work independently.

 

Accountability:

  • The Program Manager is required to follow organization’s Accountability Framework and its commitment to the Codes of Conduct practiced by the organization. The Program Manager will ensure commitment to the organization mission and values and for working in accordance to job expectations.
