Job Purpose

Job Purpose: To conduct sports training and coaching activities with children and mobilize communities for realization of child rights and protection.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

• Implement age specific sports and physical fitness activities with children in communities
• Develop calendar of activities
• Develop nutrition plan for children
• Identify playing areas
• Conduct trials and coaching sessions
• Formulate and train sports teams in community
• Train community volunteers for coaching and training children
• Deliver S4D manual and life skills to children and youth
• Plan and implement community based activities and meetings
• Formulate and mobilize community groups
• Train and build capacity of community groups on child rights and child protection
• Implement behavior change communication strategy and tools in communities
• Develop linkages with CSOs and other community based organizations
• Develop linkages with government departments

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum Bachelors’ degree in social/development studies or physical education studies
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in working with communities and children in difficult situations
• Working knowledge of child rights is preferred
• Trainings received on S4D will be a plus.
