Value Chain Development Component
Lead

Chemonics seeks a value chain development component lead for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Pakistan targeting the private sector and supporting small-medium enterprises (SME) in various industries. This position will be based in Islamabad or Lahore.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the project’s technical direction and provide oversight for project activities
• Identify Pakistan-specific blockages to growth and increased profitability and develop approaches to overcome them
• Identify sectors with potential for economic growth in Pakistan and create and implement action plans to revitalize them
• Standardize the strategies and action plans for growth and increased profitability so they are easily replicable.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in economics, business, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience managing private sector development programs and technical background and experience in value chain analysis in Pakistan
• Knowledge and prior experience of USAID operations, programming, and structure a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Urdu required; knowledge of Pashto desirable.
