Health and Hygiene Promoter
(Male & Female)

Major Responsibilities: 

• Under the direct supervision of the MO, she will perform health education, motivation and community mobilization activities at community level in accordance with the culture and norms of the target population to promote personal hygiene, safe drinking water and sanitation, increased access to health services by women and children, principles of safe motherhood, proper nutrition, and awareness about prevention against Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
• She will provide individual counseling to beneficiaries to promote health, safe water and sanitation, benefits of child spacing, prompt access to health services by women and children in case of illness, proper nutrition, and awareness about prevention against reproductive tract infections, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
• She will motivate the men and adolescent boys to adopt healthy practices for daily life.
• She will provide counseling to adolescent boys about personal hygiene, nutrition and physiological changes; refer cases with developmental or other problems.
• She will assist in the development of appropriate health education and training materials.
• She will collect health data as required by the program.
• She will build close partnership with the target communities through regular meetings with them on appropriate intervals. This will ensure community satisfaction from BHU/MHU activities and also provide inputs to improve the working of BHU/MHU.
• She will be participating in weekly meetings of health team to discuss work plan and work related issues.
• She will provide regular monthly reports of Health promotion activities to MO.

Skills Required:

• For the post of Health and Hygiene Promoter a degree from recognized university and at least two years experience is considered necessary.
• The Health and Hygiene Promoter should be team player and should have good interpersonal and communication skills. He should be flexible, committed and dedicated.
• Good English, Urdu and Pushto are essential
