  • Preparation of disbursement vouchers.
  • Preparation and issuance of checks of all account due
  • Coding and processing of the invoices received from the suppliers and vendors.
  • Responding to the queries from the vendors.
  • Processing and reconciling petty cash 
  • Processing staff expenses and ensuring that the claims are in accordance with the policies and procedures.
  • Dealing with banks and suppliers and depositing tax deducted in government treasury.
  • Ensuring that all the bills and invoices received from suppliers are in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Purchase Orders, agreements and contracts.
  • Perform petty cash count periodically.
  • Enter all procurement and expense vouchers, journal entries, adjustment entries and advances into QuickBooks
  • Maintain all financial records and files.
  • Assist with the annual audit
  • Assist the compliance manager in his reviews
  • Perform any other tasks that may be assigned by finance department head;
  • These key tasks and responsibilities may be subject to change. Any changes will be made in consultation with the jobholder in consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field;
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in an international NGO.  USAID projects’ experience is preferred;
  • Experience in dealing with USAID as well as other international donors is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge MS Office Suite;
  • Advanced knowledge of Quick Books Accounting Package
  • Fluency in spoken and written English;
  • Able to work in individual or as part of a team

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Three years’ experience working on a USAID funded program.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25% regional travel to field offices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office conditions.
