PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Education Officer, with the guidance and support of the Project Coordinator, extends technical support to the DIC/ teachers, head teachers and community members through classroom/field based input. The prime responsibility of education Officer is to ensure safe learning environment in DIC/ formal schools through implementation of the project activities keeping in view World Vision’s mission and principles
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure children’s participation in project design, implementation and monitoring
· Assist in establishing and maintaining World Vision Pakistan best practice standards for children interventions
· Advocate for child rights and other children related issues with local authorities and communities through awareness raising and information materials
· Ensure timely provision of school/student supplies as per the project mandate
· Facilitate formation and/or strengthening of PTAs, Community Networks, woman’s groups, and child brigades to ensure community’s active involvement in all project activities
· Write reports according to the project and donor requirements
· Produce success stories/case studies and share with communication section through concerned supervisor
· Co-ordinate and conduct awareness campaign on CRC and importance of education to increase girls’ enrolment
· Assist the Field Engineer in conducting need assessment, cost estimation and developing assessment report for the construction/rehabilitation of educational facilities
· Maintain updated record of concerned activities.
· Represent World Vision Pakistan in coordination meetings with government agencies, NGOs and other institutions related to Education
· Contribute in short/long term plans, conducting need assessments and developing concept notes
· Submit monthly, weekly and daily work plan to the concern supervisor on regular basis
· Mobilize communities to promote & strengthen Parents Teachers Association (PTAs) to increase access of girls to higher education
· Ensure adherence to WV Pakistan Social Mobilization Strategy throughout the project implementation particularly mobilizing communities for awareness of children’s right to education and community participation and support for project initiatives
· Assist in the conduct of internal and external ‘lesson learned’ events on project achievements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
· MA/MSc with B.Ed.
· Master in Education/Teacher Education is desirable
· Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
· Diverse work experience with National/International well reputed organizations is desirable
· Good communication skills both verbal and written in English and Urdu
· Can communicate in local languages
· Good report writing skills
· Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Power Point and Excel)
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Ready to take initiatives and work with in pressure
· Coordination and team building sills
· Demonstrates strong conflict management skills
