Objective of the Project:

The programme’s objectives are to make the Pakistani state more receptive to the demands of the population by seeking to create awareness amongst the population whilst giving citizens and communities the skills to bring about change. A great emphasis on this programme is to eradicate violence against women.

 The 4 key outputs are as follows:

  1. Empower women to give them a political voice to participate safely in politics without the fear of violence
  2. Enhance the capacity of the citizens and communities to resolve disputes peacefully and inclusively
  3. Build capacities of citizens to agree solutions together to make effective demands
  4. Build evidence to change laws, attitudes and behaviours through different means

 Additional objectives are to increase civil society organisations’ capacity to influence government policy and hold it more accountable for its results. It will also seek to ensure that marginalised groups are given a voice and become more involved in the decision making process whilst becoming more engaged in politics. The aim of this project will be to serve as a management agency that will manage grant funds, provide technical support to build CSO capacity whilst building monitoring and evaluation capacity.

TASKS (PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS)

Under the management and supervision of the Manager Operations, the Consultant is responsible for the following:

NETWORKING

  • Responsible for all IT infrastructures of DFID-AAWAZ Programme office located in Islamabad.
  • Implements network security at the regional level as established by DAI HO.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and management of AAWAZ Programme servers installed in office.
  • Oversees the administration of the Programme WAN and making sure that offices are connected with best possible medium.
  • Review and keep record of network resources utilization and suggest appropriate changes.

MAINTENANCE

  • Oversees the administration and maintenance of computer Systems and software as per project standard policies.
  • Implement policies for optimum utilization of network resources

INTERNAL SYSTEMS

  • Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
  • Works with programme teams to help implement Internal Systems.
  • Making sure that uninterrupted internet connection is available in AAWAZ Programme office round the clock

ASSET MANAGEMENT

  • Builds and maintains vendor relationships and assist in the purchase of hardware and software products in coordination with the procurement unit.
  • Support the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT supplies and provide expert opinion when required.
  • Ensures that programme IT related assets are maintained responsibly.

COORDINATION:

  • Coordinate with vendors on the availability of latest technology and equipment warranties etc.
  • Communication with DAI-Europe Office on programme IT needs and recommendations.

TELEPHONY

  • Develops and Manages project telephone system.
  • Oversees all telephone changes, including routing for seating assignments etc.

Any other assignment by the supervisor.
