TUSDEC is setting up an internationally funded project to support the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector in Pakistan especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) regions. The overall objective of this project is to contribute to the improvement of technical and vocational training in support of economic development and employment opportunities in Pakistan.

 

Job Description:

  • Oversee the implementation of the project and coordinate project activities across the regions
  • Liaise with TVET institutes, private sector employers, trade bodies, overseas recruitment agencies, Government & NGOs,  and local relevant authorities, opinion leaders to ensure effective execution of the project
  • Encourage, convince, support and promote public & private enterprises, businesses, communities and societies to get involved and make contributions to TVET development
  • Data collection & analysis and information sharing with all relevant stakeholders to select the potential employable trades
  • Analyse training needs and requirements for TVET quality improvement in accordance with the real needs of the socio-economic development of the regions
  • Develop TORs to engage the services of community mobilization organizations (CBOs) to mobilize the pool of trainees
  • Strengthen TVET institutes by incorporating the industry driven curricula accredited by the relevant Technical Boards/authorities
  • Design training programs, packages to offer trainings to identified trainees
  • Maintain a working relation with private sector employers and MFIs for employment of successful trainees
  • Establishment of regular monitoring & evaluation mechanism for smooth implementation
  • Carry out all project related activities that includes administration , finance, marketing, trainings etc.
  • Maintain high ethical standards at all times, avoiding any actual or perceived conflicts of interest


Education & Experience:

Masters degree in social sciences, business or related field from a recognised national/foreign university with 10 years of relevant work experience. Preference will be given to candidates having engineering degree/PhD in social sciences. Prior experience of leading any reputable donor project relevant to TVET sector is highly desirable. A suitable candidate must have an extensive experience of working with international donors, public and private sectors and NGOs.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, web browsers and email
