Context:

Pak Plus is a non-profit, non-governmental organization supporting people living with HIV & AIDS (PLHIV) in Punjab, Pakistan. It was founded in 2002 in Lahore by a female PLHIV in response to the growing number of infected people, facing stigma and discrimination due to their HIV status.

Pak Plus Society is going to scale up care and support program for People Living with HIV (PLHIV) under Global Fund Round 9 at Dera Ghazi Khan and would provide comprehensive care and support services to PLHIV.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Global Fund grant compliance as per donor rules, requirements and as per agreement clauses
  • Ensures compliance with organization and donor Financial policy, procedure and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Keeps updated the financial record on regular basis as per standard and procedure
  • Responsible for the preparation of organization’s internal financial reports and reports for donors as required.
  • Manage Administrative activities of office including asset management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Devises and uses formats which help in better tracking of project budgets by program staff
  • Prepares all vouchers, financial template and posting to financial software
  • Provides technical support to Program team in the areas of financial management
  • Responsible for the Preparation of Ledger, Trial Balance, Reconciliation Statements
  • Responsible for the liquidation of accounts as and when required
  • Responsible for the monitoring visits at field office
  • Prepares accounts/ documents for final Audit of the organization.
  • Advises the Program team on the technical support needs related to financial management
  • Helps Project Manager and senior management on budget preparation and expenditure tracking
  • Maintains cash flow and forecasting
  • Provide administrative support to office
  • Develop systems for effective and transparent use of project assets
  • Update inventory of assets on regular basis
  • Provide administrative support to program staff for effective project implementation
  • Performs any other duty assigned by the CEO or project manager

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Minimum MBA (Finance), M.Com
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in Finance, preferably in NGO sector
  • Proven experience of different computerized accounting soft wares
  • Strong accounting skills and strong principles on accountability and transparency  
  • Adequate knowledge of basic computer programs Ms. Office, Excel, Power point, and Internet
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide systematic solutions in line with established policies/procedures
  • Experience working in detailed, delicate situations with local organizations
  • Willingness to travel as and when required
  • Fluency in Urdu and Local Languages of DGK
  • Flexible, motivated team player
  • Honest, reliable and responsible
