PURPOSE:

The position will contribute to achieving organizational objectives through planning, organizing and delivering security training & workshops with the overall objective of enhancing staff knowledge, skills and capacity in the area of resilience and personal and organizational security.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •   To manage and oversee the direction of the Security Department and assume full responsibility for the proper execution and implementation of WVP training plan.
  •   Can plan convene and deliver security courses, specific events such as seminars and/or senior level workshops within World Vision Pakistan.
  •   Plan, convene and deliver security training courses & workshops in the WV Pakistan field offices, designed with the overall intention of improving the competence of WVP field staff.
  •   Keep up to date with developments in training methodology and security issues in humanitarian relief.
  •   Together with the Senior Security Officer and Security Manager to set the annual schedule of security courses, and to plan the allocation of tasks to Field Security Assistant’s in their respective area of responsibilities.
  •   Work with Senior Security Officer and Field Security Assistant’s to ensure consistency in use of materials and training practice.
  •   Any other reasonable tasks or duties as required by the Security Manager or organization.
  •   Liaise with Area Development Managers to ensure that the needs of WVP field staff are understood and met.
  •   To liaise with province field offices security officers to ensure the sharing of new training materials as well as information and advice on good security practices within the WV Pakistan national office and in province offices.
  •   To ensure consistency of practice in province offices around security training.
  •   Develops, implements, and provides security recommendations and guidelines for security monitoring processes in relation to general control, security programs and development and operation of the organization’s infrastructure. Provide a security analysis of local context to Security Manager.
  •   Any other reasonable tasks or duties as required by the Security Manager or organization.

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor degree in social sciences or related area
  • 3-5 years of safety and security training experience.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of NGO security management theory and practice.
