Country Strategy Development Consultant

Overview:

Jhpiego is an international non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University, USA. For more than 50 years and in over 150 countries, Jhpiego has worked to prevent the needless deaths of women and their families. Jhpiego is dedicated to improving the health of women and families in developing countries.

Jhpiego Pakistan is seeking the services of a consultant to develop a comprehensive country strategy for Jhpiego Pakistan that addresses critical health issues, aligns with government and donor priorities, and identifies key partners and opportunities for future growth.

Specific Objectives:

• Fill in the word and excel document template of the strategy plan
• Comprehensive analysis of health issues, government priorities, and donor landscape.
• Detailed overview of Jhpiego’s operations, budget, and projects
• Completed inventory for current partners, potential future partners, and other stakeholders, including detailed profiles
• SWOT analysis and strategic recommendations
• Actionable plan for Jhpiego’s positioning in upcoming opportunities
• Summary of findings and recommendations presented to Jhpiego’s senior management.

Description of Objectives:

1. Develop Country Context Analysis:
   • Conduct interviews with key stakeholders, including portfolios leads and any other staff member identified by Jhpiego
   • Review and analyze relevant documents and reports.
   • Prepare a comprehensive report on health issues, government priorities, and donor landscape.
2. Conduct Landscape Analysis and Use it Strategically in the Strategy Document:
   • Jhpiego’s operations, budget, and current projects.
   • Detailed tables and visualizations to summarize findings.
3. Partner and Donor Mapping:
   • Support portfolio leads in identifying and profiling key partners and donors.
   • Support portfolio leads in completing the partner mapping inventory for current, potential future partners, and other stakeholders, including detailed profiles.
   • Analyze donor trends and funding opportunities. After analyzing information provided by Jhpiego team and also based on the consultants understanding and market analysis.
4. Competitive Analysis and Strategy Development:
   • Engage with a total of 10 Senior Management Team members to perform SWOT analysis to identify Jhpiego’s competitive positioning. Take final input from Country Director
   • Develop strategic recommendations and action plans.
   • Create a positioning plan for upcoming opportunities.
5. Prepare a Summary Of Country Strategy Plan (PPT/Word/Excel):
   • Prepare and present findings to Jhpiego’s senior management team.
   • Provide actionable recommendations and strategic insights.
   • Fill in the word document template of the strategy plan
   • Fill in the excel document template of the strategy plan

Payment and Working Schedule:

Selection Criteria:

• Advanced degree in public health, international development, or related field.
• Public health professional with 7-8 years of experience in international development, developing country level strategies, national policy guidelines, protocols, manuals , or related fields.
• Proven expertise in health sector analysis, strategic planning, donor relations, and partnership development.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills; experience with stakeholder engagement and presentation.
• Selected candidate requires to attend office from Monday to Friday.

Level of Efforts (LOE):

The consultancy duration will be over 2-months, including stakeholder interviews, data analysis, and preparation of deliverables.

Reporting Line:

The consultant will report to the Country Director and work closely with portfolio leads throughout the assignment.
