Job Description

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The research associate will actively work and contribute to a collaborative team environment, providing support to his/her superiors in activities associated with the Auto Steer System, Green Cabins, Smart Irrigation, and the utilization of Geospatial and Sensors data related to Project GreenAI.
  • He/She will also engage in ongoing projects related to precision agriculture techniques and also engage in the preparation of scholarly papers, conducting field visits and other related tasks relevant to the objectives of Project GreenAI.
  • He/She is expected to demonstrate a high level of motivation, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills and ability to effectively engage with students and colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • MS (Agricultural Engineering / Mechatronics / GIS / Geoinformatics / Electronics / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering) from HEC recognized university.
  • Publications in relevant peer-reviewed scientific journals are an asset.
  • PhD scholar will be preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines (electronics, mechatronics circuitry, sensors, Auto Guidance system, hydroponics, GIS/GPS). 
  • Strong research background with experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and project development is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Preferably be able to effectively communicate, both oral and written formats, in English.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

  • 1 year of relevant professional experience in Auto Steer System/Hydroponics, GIS/GPS/Precision agriculture techniques will be preferred.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • This position is one-year term with possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance or need basis.

  • The hired candidate will undergo a 2‐3 months training period during which the candidate will be on probation. The final appointment will be confirmed after completion of the training period.
