The Revenue Mobilisation, Investment and Trade (REMIT) is a 39-months (2021 – 2025) programme funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and is implemented by Adam Smith International (ASI). The programme provides technical assistance (TA) to Pakistan with a broader objective to implement reforms for strengthening macroeconomic stability and improving conditions for high and sustained growth, mutual prosperity, job creation and poverty reduction. The Programme works towards supporting the Government of Pakistan, its relevant ministries, institutions, and departments to strengthen revenue mobilisation reforms/initiatives, address investment environment challenges, facilitate trade and drive competitiveness by reducing trade barriers, and improve the macroeconomic policy and its management.
REMIT is engaged with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in a multifaceted collaboration aimed at boosting taxpayer compliance. One vital facet of this partnership involves enhancing the strategic utilisation of ICT tools. Within the scope of this support, REMIT is providing support to FBR in improving its Service Delivery and User Experience (UX) through its multiple service delivery channels. The central objective of this activity is to employ a service design approach in FBR’s digital transformation initiatives that will help it expand its tax base and raise revenues.
Under the FBR Service Design Initiative (SDI) umbrella, REMIT aims to create world-class services and customer experiences for taxpayers, tax agents and tax officials in Pakistan through technical assistance.
The objectives of the FBR Service Design Initiative (SDI) are as follows:
- Make FBR tax services more efficient
- Make FBR tax services more effective
- Create a seamless omni-channel FBR taxpayer experience
- Create trust with FBR taxpayers and improve FBR’s brand
- Undertake organisational capacity building to improve FBR’s service design capabilities
Job Summary
The UI Designer will be responsible for creating visually appealing and user-friendly digital interfaces that enhance the taxpayer's experience with the FBR’s digital services. This role involves designing the look and usability of website, applications, and other digital platforms, ensuring they align with the organisation's brand and user expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with service designers and other team members to understand user requirements.
- Create user interfaces for web and mobile applications, considering user experience and accessibility.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual design concepts.
- Work on the integration of visual and interactive elements to enhance user engagement.
- Develop a comprehensive design system (component library).
- Ensure consistency in design across various digital touchpoints.
- Keep up-to-date with UI design trends and best practices.
- Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback for iterative design improvements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, UI/UX design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
- Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch).
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and web accessibility.
- Excellent visual design and layout skills.
- Expertise in design systems and brand guidelines is a must.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- 2-3 years of work experience in related field.
Reporting
The “User Interface (UI) Designer” will report to REMIT Team Lead, REMT Tax Lead and REMIT Service Designer Lead.
