CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
Under general supervision of SHC, the primary role of General Practitioner (Female) is to provide quality Primary Health Care services to clinic’s clients of all ages, genders, and nationalities. The services will include both preventive and curative services including treatment and management of most common illnesses in adults and children according to universally acceptable guidelines and protocols.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
A) Provision of PHC services
Preventive services including:
- Antenatal and post natal care according to national protocol
- Family Planning Counseling and Consultation to all woman of reproductive age
- Free distribution of micronutrient’s supplements (iron and folic acid) and vitamins
- Breast examination
- Health education related to safe motherhood and woman’s health in general and about current health conditions to ensure best management and good health outcome
Curative services including:
- Obstetric-gynecological consultations including family, reproductive age and delivery history and full obstetric-gynecological physical examination
- Management of acute and chronic woman’s health conditions
- Prescription of drugs according to national/international standard treatment protocol
Referral services including:
- Referral to secondary and tertiary care as needed
- Referral to Basic Rapid Diagnostic test
B) Technical Assistance
- Provide TA in development of health education material and health promotion campaign
- Support in development of Health Education Plan
- Support in conduction of health education consultations.
- Fill and maintain consultation logbook on timely and accurate manner
- Participate in preparation of monthly drug and medical supply order in coordination with clinic pharmacist
- Report to Health & Nutrition Advisor about technical and medical issues as well as organizational, logistical, and administrative issues
- Ensure integration of clinic services and promote best quality standards for clients

QUALIFICATIONS
- M.B.B.S degree or higher
- Desirable – Master’s in Public Health
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a clinic or a hospital providing curative services.
- Experience working in primary health care, in specific to gynecological and obstetrical problems.
- Fluency English and local languages will be an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation, and maturity
- Willingness to travel extensively in the different areas, as needed.
